Free gas! Free oil change! Thanks to New Life Family Church’s $10K Gas Giveaway on Good Friday

Need gas or an oil change? How about free gas and a free oil change?

On Friday, April 14, New Life Family Church will provide free gas at the BP Gas Station, 4125 8 Mile Road, and  free oil changes at City Oil Change, 18200 Livernois in Detroit through its annual $10K Gas Giveaway program.

Known as Good Friday, the day that Christians celebrate the three-day death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the ministry wanted to ensure that at least 500 Detroiters have a “good” Friday. The program is open to anyone in metro Detroit.

“Our ministry is postured to celebrate Jesus just as many other churches will this week, but we wanted to make sure that we demonstrated him as well,” says Pastor Welton T. Smith IV. “Our annual $10K Gas Giveaway is just one of the many great things we are blessed to do. Our ministry is full of young adults who love Detroit and are always willing to do what it takes to love on their own. Emulating our love for Christ, we proudly blame Jesus for doing what we do.”

Detroiters wanting to take advantage of the free gas or oil changes should arrive early. The event begins at 9:00 a.m. and the gas and oil changes will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.  The gas will pump and oil changed until the $10,000 is used up.

New Life Family Church was founded by Pastor Welton, a Detroit native, on Easter Sunday, 2007.

You can follow the ministry online @newlifeanywhere. The church meets at Bailey Cathedral, 7045 Curtis Street, Detroit, Michigan 48221.
