BNP Media raises enough money to help Gleaners provide 7,560 meals for hungry kids in Detroit

Gleaners Community Food Bank was able to provide 7,560 meals to feed hungry children in metro Detroit thanks to dollars raised by BNP Media.

BNP employees organized a special bake sale to raise the funds. Fifteen employees volunteered to bake pies, cakes, and cookies and raised $1,260 for their efforts. This is the 13th year BNP Media has contributed to the Gleaners initiative.

This gift would normally provide 3,780 meals to neighbors in need, but with the matching sponsors from the “Double Your Donation Day” program, Gleaners was able to deliver 7,560 meals.

“We know that too many children are not getting healthy meals on a daily basis and we want to thank our employees for contributing to this important Gleaners program,” says BNP Media co-CEOs Harper, Mitchell and Taggart Henderson.

Philanthropy and community engagement are core values at BNP Media. It supports organizations that help build a higher quality of life for individuals and families.

The company also donates each summer to the Gleaners “Hunger Free Summer” program where each dollar donated is matched by sponsors. Those dollars go to help feed children during the summer months when they are not receiving meals at school.

Gleaners collects 34.5-million pounds of food a year and distributes 79,000 meals each day including providing nourishing food and nutrition education to 84,700 children a year.

BNP Media is a fourth-generation, family-run, business-to-business media company headquartered in Troy.
