Cirque du Soleil bugs Detroit

If you saw some strange looking insects running around downtown Detroit or eating at Lafayette Coney Island today, don’t worry. We haven’t been invaded by something out of a sci-fi movie.

OVO from Cirque du Soleil insects was checking out some of the city’s major attractions while they’re in town as part of their North American tour. The group is here until December 25 at the Joe Louis Arena.

The Cricket and Flea performers engaged with the public and visited popular destinations including the Detroit Institute of Arts, the old Michigan Theatre, Lafayette Coney Island, and Campus Martius Park in the spirit of the holidays.

There are four more shows scheduled during the holiday weekend. It’s probably too late to catch the one tonight but we listed it just in case.

December 23: 7:30 p.m.

December 24: 1:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.

December 25: 3:00 p.m.
