It may be a month late, but why not bring a little bit of Halloween to Thanksgiving and at the same time burn some calories before you sit down to your holiday dinner?
Often called the “parade before the parade,” thousands of people in costumes run in the Turkey Trot’s 10K, 5K, or 1 Mile before America’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
This year is the Turkey Trot’s 34th anniversary. It is presented by Strategic Staffing Solutions.
There are several distances to choose from – the Strategic Staffing Solutions 10K Turkey Trot Run, the 5K Stuffing Strut Run/Walk and family friendly Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan Mashed Potato Mile.

There are also two combination events – the Drumstick Double (10K & 5K), and the new Cranberry Combo (1 Mile & 5K).

After 34 years the Turkey Trot tradition is still going strong. It can be a good way to put off the Thanksgiving weight gain, see a nice spectacle, or worst case scenario … you get to avoid your annoying relatives for a few hours, at least.
