Adding a baby to the family is wonderful. It is also very expensive.
Showers help offset some the cost, but that’s not a possibility for everyone.
The Church of the New Covenant Baptist in Northwest Detroit wants to help expectant parents get what they need to welcome their new baby. The church is holding its first annual Covenant Community Baby Shower on Saturday, September 10, from 11:00 am – 12:30 p.m. It will be held in the Randall Fellowship Hall of the church at 3426 Puritan.
“We firmly believe that to care for all God’s children is to follow Christ,” says Rev. Brian Ellison, event organizer and church pastor.
The church is accepting donations of new baby items for those expectant parents.
All local pregnant women and new families, with infants up to 1 year old, are invited to this fun and free event, The Community Baby Shower is an opportunity for expectant parents to receive much needed items and resources to help welcome their new baby.
The event will also provide education and support along with healthy snacks, refreshments, games and entertainment.
