Those who find themselves at the Renaissance Center have a new choice for food … Panera Bread.
This addition to the culinary landscape of the RenCen is located on Level A of the GM Wintergarden and can seat up to 70 patrons at one time.
The company comes out of St. Louis, and while you may have seen franchises within metro-Detroit, they have chosen the iconic RenCen to be the first location in the city proper.
“We’re thrilled that Panera has chosen the GMRENCEN as its first Detroit location,” says Claudia Killeen, manager of Renaissance Center development at General Motors Company. “Whether you’re looking for a dinner, lunch or a bagel in the morning, the new bakery-cafe will be a great dining destination for the thousands of people who work in and visit the GMRENCEN every day.”
This new location is a combination of old and new. All traditional menu options are available, but it also has new technology. The new tech – known as Panera 2.0 – is supposed to improve the dining experience for patrons with customized ordering, mobile payment, fast-lane kiosks for dine-in and to-go diners, advanced ordering and Rapid Pick-Up for to-go meals.
The new restaurant also means 30 new jobs Detroiters.
Fresh bakery and deli styled fast food has come to a Detroit landmark.
