Plante Moran expanding in downtown Detroit, adding staff at One Campus Martius

The momentum continues in downtown Detroit.

Plante Moran is getting ready to take up more space at One Campus Martius (the former Compuware Building). The certified public accounting and business advisory firm will increase its space by 13,000 square feet, bringing its total office space to 30,000 square feet on the third floor of the building. By June approximately 60 new staff members will move in, expanding Plante Moran’s downtown workforce to 120.

One Campus Martius is now 100 percent occupied.

“We are very excited about growing our business in this prime location at a time when office space in the Central Business District is in such hot demand,” said Gordon Krater, managing partner of Plante Moran. “With a variety of current and prospective clients located downtown, our presence in the city helps us continue to serve clients and attract new business. Graduating college students and our current staff also have a strong desire to be in Detroit – making our downtown location an important recruiting tool.”

Plante Moran first opened an office at One Campus Martius in 2013 as part of its growth strategy and desire to help shape the future of Detroit’s urban core.

“Locating in the Central Business District (CBD) provides a competitive advantage for businesses of all sizes and Plante Moran’s expansion at One Campus Martius solidifies their team’s desire to work in an urban environment,” said Jim Ketai, managing partner and CEO of Bedrock Real Estate Services.

Quicken Loans and its family of companies have been at One Campus Martius since 2010. In December 2014, Bedrock Real Estate Services, a member of the Quicken Loans family, and Meridian Health acquired the 15-story, one million-square-foot building, which overlooks Campus Martius Park.

One Campus Martius is also home to Hard Rock Café, Texas de Brazil, Tim Horton’s, and Detroit Water Ice Factory, plus retail shops, a fitness center, and a daycare facility. Other tenants include Quicken Loans, Meridian Health, Compuware, Benzinga, and Bedrock Real Estate Services.

If you’re out and about there you can also check out nearby restaurants and retailers including John Varvatos, Punch Bowl Social, Central Kitchen + Bar, Townhouse and more. Later this year look for Nike, Kit + Ace and Avalon International Breads … all within walking distance.
