Small Business Saturday is tomorrow. There are dozens and dozens of small businesses to visit in Detroit. We thought we’d check with our friends at Southwest Solutions for ideas on some places to shop in their neighborhoods.

Carrie Budzinski, development communications manager, passed on the names of some of the entrepreneurs the organization has help train and finance as they started and grew their businesses.

  • All About Technology, 6450 Michigan Ave. Computers and their accessories are always welcome gifts … and so is training on how best to use them.  All About Technology is a Certified Minority Business Enterprise.
  • Café con Leche Nord, 2990 W. Grand Blvd. In 2007, Jordi Carbonell and wife Melissa Fernandez opened Café Con Leche on West Vernor at Scotten across the street from Clark Park. At that time it was one of the worst street corners in the neighborhood. Since then, the coffee shop has been a connection point for the whole community. It is a great place to gather, connect, learn, and explore Southwest.12142097_1013342728739385_1006371466_n
