We caught up Ralph Gilles, CEO and president of Jeep Brand and senior designer with Chrysler Group just after they revealed the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee, produced right here at Detroit’s newly-expanded Jefferson plant.
Demand for this vehicle is so high that a third production shift has already been added.
On the technology side, the 2014 Jeep Cherokee features a fully electronic eight speed automatic transmission. That means fuel economy for this SUV is now consistent with higher end vehicles like Bentley’s and Jaguars.
