This week is all about Fashion in Detroit. First we sat down to speak with Adriana Pavan about the Detroit Fashion Collective. She welcomes young designers to collaborate and share space and tells us what she thinks needs to happen to transform Detroit into a viable Fashion hub. Next we met with Dana Keaton, who is teaching “fashionpreneur” classes to teen at Youthville and the Jewish Cultural Center. She not only teaches them the basic elements of design, but also the business side of the fashion world. Rachel Lutz, owner of the Peacock Room in Midtown took us behind the scenes of her new shop to reveal the opulent design that was once covered with drop ceilings and carpet. But while Lutz has been open four months, we also spoke to one of Detroit’s long-standing retailers, Henry the Hatter.
