Meet Ashley Allyson – Metro Detroit native, Nashville recording artist, and rising star!

The 2010 WYCD Downtown Hoedown is officially underway, with Day One under our belt buckles!

Did you know that Detroit has a bona fide rising country star right underneath our noses? Meet 17 year-old Ashley Allyson from Commerce Township, who kicked off the Hoedown as the very first performer. She’s already been inducted into the Country Music Association and the Academy of Country Music at her young age, and spends her time between Nashville and Metro Detroit — that is, when she’s not on tour.

Detroit Unspun got an exclusive interview with our homegrown country starlet, and she had some great things to say about both country music and Detroit:

Keep your ears open for her new single, “All Kinds of Beautiful,” and watch Ashley rise to the top of the charts. Yesterday morning she performed it on Fox 2 News — watch the video here.

You can find Ashley Allyson at her official site, Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, and just about everywhere else, including a stage near you!

  1. Ashley Allyson and her band country/rocked that stage. Too bad they didn't open the entrance till she was already on..a friend of mine was at the gate and told me they were gonna storm the entrance if they didn't let them in to see her show. Google her- I got an autograph on one of her beachballs.
